CSEP-certified Members and Vancouver Hearts-in-Training ProgramDATE: 1/1/2007 CSEP-certified Members are recognized formally by the Hearts-in-Training program for their expertise in the health and fitness industry. CSEP-certified members (in collaboration with the Healthy Heart Society of BC and SportMed BC) evaluate the health status/risk profile of over 600 adult Canadians (in February and April 2007). Lead Articles in the Canadian Medical Association JournalDATE: 1/1/2007 Two articles created by Drs. Darren Warburton and Shannon Bredin were published in the Canadian Medical Association Journal. These articles highlight the numerous health benefits of physical activity and highlight the various roles CSEP health and fitness professionals play in exercise evaluation and prescription. CSEP-certified Members' Contributions to the Health and Well-being of Transplant PatientsDATE: 1/1/2007 In August 2006, a team of CSEP-certified health and fitness professionals participated in a research initiative examining the health status of over 50 transplant patients participating in the Canadian Transplant Games (in Edmonton, Alberta). This research and various participating members were highlighted on local and national media. |
